More Information:

Given the precarious nature of COVID-19’s impact on school districts and daily functions, the CS Discoveries and CS Principles workshops will be held in a blended-learning virtual online experience. The CS Principles workshop will be held June 28 – July 2, 2021. CS Discoveries workshop sessions will be held July 5 – 9, 2021.

For New Jersey teachers, the cost of the CS Discoveries or CS Principles program is $650 per teacher and a $150 enrollment fee. That’s 75% off the national cost. The program fee covers the year-long program including your teaching materials, workshop supplies, and 9 total days of professional development (5 days during the summer, and 4 days during the academic year).

Scholarships are available! Do you teach in a high needs school or a school with a diverse student population? Is funding for computer science limited in your district? A limited number of scholarships will be available. NOTE: All teachers must pay the $150 enrollment fee.

The curriculum, online student learning platform, and access to support from the teacher and Code.org community are all provided free of charge.

To be eligible for the program, your application must show you: (1) Commit to participating in the full, year-long professional learning program; (2) Plan to teach the course in the 2021-22 school year; (3) For CS Discoveries, teach students between 6th and 10th grade OR For CS Principles, teach students between 9th and 12th grade; (4) Required: Have your school principal’s approval for all the above

Note: The virtual workshop requires live video conferencing. If you have questions about the technical requirements for the workshop, please contact your Regional Partner directly.
